This weekend and the following week have some truly geeky goodies coming up. Events like these make me proud to be a Seattleite and if anyone ever wants to throw down on what city is the nerdiest of them all, just take a peek at these coming events. Seattle, face it, you’re the geekiest and we love you for it!

Space Elevator ConferenceTwo words. SPACE. ELEVATOR. What about that doesn’t interest you? Here’s a conference at the Museum of Flight completely dedicated to everyone’s favorite type of elevator, the ones that go to SPACE! (and hopefully back down again…)

When: Friday, August 23rd – Sunday, August 25th, all day.

burlxfiles_posterThe Burl-X-Files: The Truth is Down There Burlesque Inspired by the X-Files: This one gets my personal stamp of approval as a HUGE fan of the local burlesque scene (especially the geeky burlesque scene) AND a gigantic X-Files dork. I am SO stoked for this! Trust no one, except me, on this recommendation: GO TO THIS.

When: Friday, August 23rd and Saturday 24th + 29th, 30th and 31st. 8pm.

Official Star Trek Convention: If you’re not at this convention this weekend, you’re going to have to hand over your geek badge — sorry. This is the ultimate die-hard geek gathering and you get some serious nerd street cred for braving the trekkie masses and donning your finest Starfleet uniform and/ or Vulcan ears. Live long…

When: Saturday, August 24th – Sunday August 25th, all day.

ST-seattle_sm

Happy Birthday, Makers!: Can you believe this radical, innovative co-working space in downtown Seattle is turning 1?! Well it is, and what better way to celebrate than by having a mixologist mix-off? Sounds like they could use your help tasting the drinks…

When: Thursday, August 29th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Have fun out there, ya nerds.
