Court Lorenzini, a longtime Seattle-area entrepreneur who co-founded DocuSign back in 2003, is now leading a stealth startup in the cooking space.

Lorenzini told us that his new company, CookBrite, is nearing completion of a $1.5 million round from angel investors. It’s the first funding the startup has taken outside of investment from the founders.

Lorenzini was mum on other details about CookBrite, only saying that it’s an “ecosystem play in the cooking space designed to help really change how food is used worldwide.”

The company, which employs less than ten, has already been around for two years. Lorenzini is also still the CEO of Primus BioVision, a Seattle-based company that helps biodiesel refineries become more profitable.
