First free Surfaces, and now the Xbox One.

It’s looking like Microsoft is building a custom white Xbox One specifically for its employees at no charge to them. A Reddit user with a “friend on the Xbox team” recently posted an image of the white Xbox, which features an engraved “I made this” emblem on the front of the console. The employee package also includes a white controller, but the Kinect remains black.

While every full-time, direct employee received a free Surface tablet last fall, it appears only those working in Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division as of July 12th and are still at Microsoft on the Xbox One launch date will get a free white Xbox One.

For now, everybody else can pre-order the Xbox One in black, and Microsoft has yet to say whether it’s building a white Xbox One for the public.
