comScore is out with its latest smartphone OEM numbers and it’s looking good for Apple.

Looking at the three month period ending January 2013, Apple’s smartphone market share rose from 34.3 percent to 37.8 percent, the highest increase among the top-5. Samsung also grew its share from 19.5 percent to 21.4 percent, while HTC and Motorola shed their shares.

Apple also gained 3.5 percent on the smartphone platform share, and while Google’s Android still led the way with 52.3 percent of overall U.S. smartphone subscribers, that actually dropped 1.3 percent from the previous quarter. Microsoft remained steady in fourth place with a 3.1 percent share of subscribers.
