In the online age, everyone can be a critic. And now, Seattle-based Urbanspoon is letting you release your inner Tom Colicchio via your smartphone.

A new app feature, Urbanspoon Guides, allows users to create and share their own favorite restaurant lists, as well as browse other folks’ favorite spots as well. You can also create and sort by categories, such as price, dietary needs, visitor recommendations and more. And it’s free for your iPhone.  Kara Nortman of CityGrid Media, the parent company of Urbanspoon, says the new service offers a way for diners to “create a snapshot of their favorite spots to grab a bite or a drink.”

To kick off the new Guides, Urbanspoon has several guest chefs creating their own Guides, including Michael Mina, Bradley Ogden, Geoffrey Zakarian, Richard Blais, Kathy Casey, Thierry Rautureau and more. We’re patiently awaiting the Anthony Bourdain guide.

For those who don’t know, the ultra-handy Urbanspoon aggregates reviews from critics, bloggers and users, and even lets you make reservations through its online booking service.

Wow, this week is really turning out to be food week here at GeekWire. Here’s a look at the suggest eats from Chef Ethan Stowell.
