Here’s something to restore your faith in humanity on this otherwise tragic Friday morning.

Sydney Telling, a 6-year-old from Seattle, is a fan of “Doctor Who.” With her dad, Joel, she attended a recent panel at Comic-Con in San Diego featuring actors including Matt Smith, who plays the Doctor in the current BBC version of the show.

Given the opportunity to ask a question, she brought up what would be a natural question for any first-grader. “Are you scared of the Weeping Angels?” she asked.

Sydney was referring to the ancient race of aliens (also known as the Lonely Assassins) that appear in the show in the form of scary stone statues.

Smith replied, “Are you scared of the Weeping Angels?”

When Syndey nodded yes, he said, “Of course. But don’t worry because I’m here to fight them off. So it’s alright. I’m here to whoop some angel … bottom.”

Watch the whole exchange in the video above.

The question and answer have made Sydney a bit of an Internet celebrity. Her dad tells News.Com.Au, “It’s been really nice, our relatives and friends and strangers contacting us saying how proud they are of Sydney for being brave.”
