It’s the tech party of the season — the GeekWire Gala, set for the evening of Dec. 6 at McCaw Hall in Seattle, and hundreds of people from the tech community will be there, based on the strong response we’ve seen so far. If you’re planning to attend but haven’t yet grabbed your tickets, we wanted to give you a quick heads up: Early bird rates are about to expire.

The event will feature great food, music, drink, networking with people from across the Seattle tech world, a photo booth, a short program honoring our Newsmakers of the Year, plus a chance to support a great cause, Seattle nonprofit Vittana, in its fight to end youth poverty.

Tickets are available here or below, and early bird rates expire this weekend. We’re encouraging companies to make this your holiday party, to take advantage of everything we’ve got in the works. Bring friends, colleagues — and yes, your significant or insignificant others — and enjoy an evening of conversation, charity and networking.

More than 500 people from the tech community and beyond joined us for this bash last year, wearing everything from dresses and tuxes to casual attire and Star Wars uniforms. (Yes, the dress code is very flexible.)

There’s also still time to sign up your team here as part of the “Geeks Give Back” initiative, supporting Vittana, with companies including Redfin, Microsoft, Amazon and others already getting into the spirit.

On the night of the event, we’ll be partnering with Chirpify so that you can tweet your donation directly to Vittana. We’ll display the tweet stream at the event and your donation earns you an extra drink ticket. The highest bidder will win a $500 gift certificate to Knoll furniture.

It’s shaping up to be a great night. And stay tuned for details on the after-party, as well.
