Do you sit around your pad, wishing there was more use for that Flash costume you put together for Comic-Con 2009 than just to dress up in and watch Breaking Bad?
Well, now there is.
File this under awesome: The Superhero Pub Run.
Started by a very fast lady, Rose Wetzel — who boasts a best mile time of 4:42 and is profiled here by the Seattle PI (for fun, flip through the photos of Wetzel’s many running outfits, which are amazing) — the Superhero Pub Run is meant to be a fun outing for all runners, superhero enthusiasts or both.
The event is sponsored by Greenlake Bar and Grill and RoseRunner Personal Training & Coaching, it’s free, and you just have to show up, preferably in a cape of some kind. It’s this Saturday at 5 p.m. in Green Lake. Come early by 4 p.m. to ensure best pre-race preparations, such as securing your masks and/or tights at the starting point, also the Greenlake Bar and Grill.
Non-runners shouldn’t be discouraged from joining — the course is only 1.5 miles and ends at the Little Red Hen. Other Green Lake bars have special drinks planned, and organizers only ask that you bring a pair of old running shoes or non-perishable food items to donate. So, put that cape on already and get outside.
