Does a Bill Gates pedigree command a premium in the market for classic cars?

Over the years I’ve spent more time than I care to admit doing research on Bill Gates’ old cars, trying to figure out if a Lexus that was up for sale on eBay had truly once belonged to the Microsoft co-founder. And this week another of his former vehicles surfaced — a 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3, being auctioned off in Austria.

They have the papers connecting the car to Gates, with the same Seattle address (3509 43rd Ave NE) as on the Lexus registration papers.

The auction house estimates the value of the Porsche between $55,000 and $71,000.

The news was first reported by the site motorline.cc.
