Users of Amazon.com’s new $199 Kindle Fire device have reported ongoing problems with the ability to connect to the Internet, Electronista reports.

That’s been a hot topic in the Amazon forums, with more than 100 posts on the topic.

Wrote one user:

“Purchased my Fire tonite from Best Buy, connected to wifi network strong signal, etc. but no internet. So frustrating, have tried rebooting cable modem, KF, unplugging router. Have laptop and Ipad touch connected to internet just fine, so confused…”

Meanwhile, PC World offers six possible fixes for the bug, including updating the Kindle software to version 6.2, reset to factory settings or buy a new router. Interestingly, PC World notes that a number of forum posters have indicated that the problem disappears over time.
