At Founder’s Co-op, we’re encouraging each of our companies’ entrepreneurs to practice their 30 second pitch for holiday parties they may be attending. Holiday parties are the perfect time for entrepeneurs to refine the salient points they want to hit when they only have a short bit of time to ignite interest or strike boredom in the face of holiday well wishers. Practice for holiday parties may sound weird but it’s not — I assure you. No rest for the weary — use a little scotch to loosen up, and give your pitch — and ask for feedback.
Be sure to note: Did the listener understand what your company does? Did you intrigue or excite the audience?  Did the audience walk away while you were talking — that’s not a good sign! Did you feel confident and proud or were you feeling weird and uncomfortable? Notice all these factors and give your 30 second pitch again — you’ll improve!
