Alexa can already call a ride for you, tell you when you aren’t walking enough, and now the brain behind Amazon’s Echo and other devices is your new personal shopper.
Amazon today gave users the ability to search and shop for items, simply by saying, for example, “Alexa, order Powered Wine Opener Gun.”
Orders are limited to Prime-eligible items, and Alexa can’t order apparel, shoes, jewelry, watches, or items from Amazon Fresh, Prime Pantry or Prime Now.
Users can also purchase music from Amazon using Alexa.
Alexa will use the default 1-Click payment method, and all items qualify for free returns. Amazon previously made it possible to re-order products through Alexa, and users can also track and cancel orders.
