Microsoft’s latest attempt to appeal to young people reeks of more desperation than your middle-aged aunt trying to pull off a Kendall + Kylie crop top.
Twitter user Patrick Burtchaell posted a recruiter email his roommate received, in which Microsoft is calling all “bae interns” to stop by its Internpalooza event for “hella noms, lots of dranks, the best beats” and “Yammer beer pong tables.” The kicker (or cherry on top) is the sign-off: “HELL YES TO GETTING LIT ON A MONDAY NIGHT.”
Even Microsoft’s racist millennial chatbot could’ve probably found a more effective way to communicate with young people.

Burtchaell’s post already has thousands retweets and likes. The tweet caught the attention of Mitchel Lewis, a Microsoft Service Operations specialist, according to his LinkedIn profile.
This is par for the course with Microsoft HR and nothing compared to some of their other antics.

“The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in an email to Gizmodo. “We are looking into how this occurred and will take appropriate steps to address it.”
