As the streets get more crowded, the potential for crashes between bikers and cars only goes up, as does the number of unpleasant and unnecessary biker/driver confrontations.

Volvo has engineered a simple yet incredible potential fix called LifePaint. It’s a reflective substance you spray onto your bike and gear that lights up at night yet remains invisible by day. It’s so safe, you can even spray it on dog collars and leashes, and we can imagine great applications on running gear and baby strollers for safer nighttime outings, too.

Right now, it’s being tested in London, about “2,000 trial cans of the product are being given away at six U.K. bike shops,” according to Slate. If all goes to plan, hopefully it will be in U.S. markets soon.
