Drones seem to be everywhere these days, but most models are still, shall we say, fairly beta?

Forget all that. Lily is coming.

This little drone, which is adorable btw, is one that combines GoPro-like camera technology, GPS and flight into one handy little robot that follows you in the sky.

You just take Lily and toss her into the air. She follows you — or leads — taking shots of the action along the way (videos, slo-mo and stills). Lily is also waterproof so no worries about landing her in water or flying in the rain.

Unfortunately, like most drones, she has a short flight time — about 20 minutes, with two hours needed to charge her up. But she’s lightweight, under three pounds, and can fit in most backpacks, making her an ideal outdoor-adventure companion that’s less likely to get caught in a tree.

Lily is supposed to ship in February 2016. You can pre-order one for $499 starting today, almost half off the retail price of $999 once it goes on sale.
