One look at this video and you might ask, “Who cares about self-driving cars?”

That’s right. Not only is this flying car in development, it basically flies itself too, one-upping those self-driving vehicles.

Massachusetts-based Terrafugia is developing the TF-X and states that the flying car is 8 to 12 years away from becoming an everyday reality.

In the video, you will watch the sleek, silver mod-looking version of the DeLorean back out of the driveway and casually drive to a flat patch for takeoff. The four-seat hybrid requires no runway, taking off much like a helicopter with two propellers. You simply tell the car where you want to go, and it flies there for you, reaching a cruising speed up to 200 mph and traveling up to 500 miles.

Of course, there is no price set yet, but Terrafugia states on its site that “the TF-X will be priced as low as possible while still allowing Terrafugia to grow to support our customers,” but if you’re an early buyer, plan to be paying luxury-car prices.
