Certainly one of the most iconic people in the history of tech, Apple’s co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs has been tough to capture on screen. Let us not forget the 2013 Ashton Kutcher vehicle that rates a mere 27 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

This new trailer for Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball, The West Wing) has all the rapid-fire trappings of both their styles — it’s dark, filled with drama, intrigue and conflict, and certainly looks promising for its entertainment value.

The cast doesn’t hurt. Michael Fassbender plays Jobs, with Seth Rogen as Woz, Kate Winslet as original Macintosh team member Joanna Hoffman, and Jeff Daniels as John Sculley, the man known for ousting Jobs from Apple in the mid ’80s.

Based on Walter Isaacson’s biography, the film is out Oct. 9.
