Setting up a recording studio is no joke, so it’s a pretty good testament to your product if an artist picks you.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have just built a new “state-of-the-art studio” using acoustic treatment from Vicoustic. Headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, Vicoustic’s North American offices are right here in Seattle.

Lewis said in a statement that the pair chose the company because “one of the huge advantages to having Vicoustic set up our control room is that when it’s silent and treated, you’re able to listen at lower volumes,” which helps cut down on fatigue. “Vicoustic really transformed it pretty significantly,” he added. “It’s brand new for me to be in an environment that is neutral. That’s what helps make a studio a studio.”

Vicoustic outfitted the Grammy Award-winning artists when they moved from a 100-square-foot studio to their new high-tech pad, which has a control room, vocal and instrument booths, and a large tracking room. They were even given a 3D rendering to look over prior to installation.

Damn, talk about moving on up from the “Thrift Shop” days.
