appleeventlogoJust two days after its big press event, Apple’s storefronts for digital goods are experiencing massive outages. According to the company’s system status page, the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store and Mac App Store are all “unavailable for all users.”

For the moment, it seems that most users can still browse the store, but when it comes time to make a purchase, whatever store users try will throw an error. That also means in-app purchases aren’t working, so people who need to buy items in Candy Crush or pick up gems in Clash of Clans will just have to wait.

Developers have also been left in the lurch. It’s currently impossible to log into iTunes Connect, the system that allows people to submit content to Apple’s digital stores. TestFlight, the company’s system for beta testing iOS apps, isn’t allowing users to download new betas.

The problems Apple has been experiencing right now are an improvement on where the company was this morning. According to the system status page, users were locked out of iCloud and iCloud Mail from around 2 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. this morning. The Apple Support page was also down for a period this morning, preventing people from getting help for the products that are experiencing outages.

We’ve reached out to the company for comment on the situation, and will update this post if we hear back. It’s not clear yet how long it will be until the stores return – they’ve been down since 2 a.m., with no sign of improvement.

Update (12:50 p.m.): Apple told CNBC that the problems (which are still ongoing) are the result of a problem with the company’s DNS configuration.

We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We’re working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience.

Update (2 p.m.): Everything should now be back to normal.
