seattlestartupweek12More than 60 events, keynotes from veteran entrepreneurs, and a party — Seattle Startup Week is here.

Kicking off Monday, the week-long event will feature a series of events that aim to educate those interested in the startup space and help build connections between entrepreneurs.

“What we’ve been seeing is that people don’t know there are other similar groups around town that share common interests,” said Dave Parker, VP of Design and Programs at Up Global, who helped organize Startup Week with Bob Crimmins. “The outcome is to help grow a thriving community.”

Highlights include keynote talks from Zillow co-founder Rich Barton (Wednesday at 7 p.m.) and RealNetworks founder Rob Glaser (Thursday at 7 p.m.) — both to be held at Kane Hall at the University of Washington. There’s also a fireside chat with Sir Mix-A-Lot, a startup job fair, and Demo Day at Fledge incubator.

Impact Hub, a co-working space in Pioneer Square, will serve as a “basecamp” for the event from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the week. You can view the entire schedule and sign up for sessions here.

Seattle-based non-profit Up Global plans to put on a Startup Week in 80 other cities worldwide over the next 12 months.
