SM-G900F_charcoal BLACK_02Samsung’s S5 hits store shelves today in 125 markets and the tech giant is looking forward to some huge sales numbers from its flagship smartphone.

Bloomberg notes that Samsung is expecting to sell 10 million S5’s within just 25 days. The phone, which is offered by every major U.S. carrier and sells for $199 on-contract, features some nice upgrades from the S4 including a heart rate monitor and fingerprint reader.

Most reviews for the device have been solid, although many say that the changes from Samsung’s S4 smartphone are quite minimal.

Nick Dillon, a senior analyst at Ovum, noted in February that Samsung’s decision to make only minor changes with the S5 is understandable given the company’s success with its S line and the maturity of the smartphone market.

“In contrast to the Galaxy S4 which was packed with gimmicky features, Samsung has focused instead on a small number of enhancements with the S5,” Dillon said. “The challenge for Samsung will be to convince users to upgrade to a handset that offers little more than its predecessor.”

Also launching today are the Samsung Gear 2 and Samsung Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, along with the Samsung Gear Fit health tracker.
