What would today’s Super Bowl victory parade and celebration be without “BOE12”?
Boeing has just filed a flight plan that will send its special 747-8, painted in honor of the Seattle Seahawks, directly over downtown Seattle (and presumably CenturyLink Field) smack in the middle of the victory celebration. The plane is set to take off from Paine Field in Everett in about an hour, at 12:40 p.m., and return at 1:07 pm, according to Flight Aware.
Prior to the Super Bowl, the plane flew in a “12” pattern across Washington state.
With the sunny skies above Seattle today, we’re looking forward to lots of great pics.
Update, 1:36 p.m.: The plane is in the air, but in a holding pattern southeast of Seattle, apparently waiting for events to begin at CenturyLink Field.)
Update, 8:50 p.m.: Here’s a picture of the 747-8 flying above Safeco and CenturyLink Fields this afternoon. Notice the “Go Hawks” on the bottom of the jet:
(Thanks to Charlie for the tip.)
