bigoven-turkeyAmazon has been pushing Black Friday for a month already, so it’s only fitting that on the actual day, it turns everyone’s attention to Cyber Monday.

This morning the Seattle-based retailer announced an exhaustive list of Cyber Monday deals, with discounts running for a full eight days starting Saturday. The head start on the shopping bonanza is not surprising — if there’s a single theme this holiday, it’s that Amazon wants consumers to shop early and often.

Amazon said it will release new deals every 10 minutes, just as it did for Black Friday, and it’s promoting them on every channel possible, from its home page, to email, Facebook, Twitter and though its mobile app. For this next stretch of shopping, Amazon is advertising a long list of specials, including $30 off select Bose headphones, a Samsung 40-inch TV for $298 and Nest Thermostat for $199.

Traditionally, Black Friday lands on the day after Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday hits the following Monday when everyone returns to work, but the lines are blurring this year, and the strategy is working.

Amazon’s sales were estimated to be 46.8 percent higher last week compared to the same week last year, making it one of the largest year-over-year gains since 2012. And based on early Thanksgiving totals, Amazon’s sales yesterday were on track to hit 28.2 percent year over year growth, which easily exceeds the 16 percent growth rate being forecasted, according to ChannelAdvisor.

Other estimates reported by Adobe said it was expecting sales on Thanksgiving to grow by 27 percent compared to last year, totaling $878 million for the day. Adobe claims to serve 17 out of the top 20 retailers with its online marketing solutions.
