gdgtGadget reviews and recommendations site gdgt is coming back for another event in Seattle at the end of this month — joining forces with Engadget (now gdgt’s sister site under AOL) for what promises to be an epic gadget-fest the evening of Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Showbox SODO. GeekWire is excited to return as a media partner for the event this year.

And here’s a good opportunity for the startups out there: Organizers are giving away a silver-level sponsorship at the event as a prize for one Seattle-area startup, providing a chance to demo a product or service at a table alongside other sponsors.

To enter the contest, send your entry to events [at] gdgt [dot] com with the basics on your startup, and why you’d be a great addition to the event. (Others can use the same email for information on sponsorships and media passes.)

The deadline is Aug. 12, and the winner will be notified by Aug. 14.

Engadget + gdgt Live is designed as an event for consumers to connect directly with major tech brands, but it’s also a chance to find previously undiscovered startups. It’s where we first ran across the Seattle startup Cloak, for example.

The all-ages event is free, but be sure to reserve your ticket here in advance.

This is part of an action-packed tech calendar in late August and September, including the sold-out Penny Arcade Expo, the Privacy Identity Innovation conference, and GeekWire’s own Sounders Day and GeekWire Summit. Hope to see you at all of them!
