prod_surface2_WebFor Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2, it seems like updates to the device take one step forward, then two steps back.

In a forum post first spotted by The Verge, a Microsoft representative said that the company was removing the latest update to its high-powered tablet, following a large number of complaints from users.

“To ensure the best experience for our customers during the holiday season, we have taken steps to remove the update for Surface Pro 2 that was previously published through Windows Update on December 10th, 2013. We are working to release an alternative update package after the holidays,” the representative said.

Still, all that does is contain the damage. For users who have already updated their Surface Pro 2s and are facing problems like shortened battery life and an inability to use Wi-Fi. Microsoft hasn’t announced a patch or fix for users facing those issues.

Microsoft was not immediately available for comment on this report.
