xboxtimewarnerIf you’re a Time Warner Cable customer and an Xbox Live Gold member, lots of live TV is coming to your Xbox later this summer.

Microsoft announced a new partnership with the cable giant today, as Time Warner will bring 300 of its live TV channels to the Xbox 360 — the most of any app thus far — including CNN, Comedy Central, Food Network, BBC, HGTV and others.

There will be Kinect voice integration with the app, so you’ll be able to shuffle through the channels without pushing any buttons. It’s another move by Microsoft to make its console the entertainment hub of your living room.

“TWC TV is a significant addition to Xbox 360, bringing our customers their favorite entertainment in one place—enhanced TV experience, games, movies, music, sports and entertainment apps,” Microsoft’s Blair Westlake said in a statement.

While live TV is already offered through apps like ESPN and Verizon FiOS TV, this certainly is a nice addition for Xbox 360 owners and TWC subscribers. When the Xbox One comes out later this year, you’ll be able to connect your cable or satellite box directly into the console and watch live TV that way.
