Snap-Mode-GamesWhile PS4 users have been able to start streaming their gameplay to the popular Twitch.tv service, Xbox One owners won’t be able to do so until January, Microsoft announced today.

“We know the ability to instantly broadcast gameplay is something the gaming community is excited about, and we are too,” Microsoft wrote in a blog post. “We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community, so while this feature won’t be available right away, we’ll let you know as soon as it is ready.”

xboxoneMicrosoft noted that while it will be possible for people to watch live streams from Twitch — much like what’s possible on the Xbox 360 — users won’t be able to broadcast the games they’re playing. Meanwhile, there are more than 100 people streaming footage to Twitch live from their PS4s, which launched this past Friday.

Still, it’ll be possible to share key moments with your friends, using some of the Xbox One’s other features. Users will also be able to upload clips of their gameplay to Xbox Live and their own SkyDrive accounts.
