We’re header21super excited about the Awards as we go into next week and hope you’ll join us there (details below). Aside from the Awards, be sure to check out these other great events coming up in the Pacific Northwest ithis week’s edition of GeekWire Calendar Picks!

Free Comic Book Day: Everywhere: Saturday 5/4, All Day. We love this event because it’s FREE, it’s EVERYWHERE and it’s FUN! If you’ve never been to a comic shop on a FCBD, you’re missing out. It’s great to see lines forming outside these ma and pa shops filled with kids and adults alike waiting to get their free comics.

Hacker News Seattle Meetup: Tuesday 5/7, 6pm. This sounds very cool. Justin Kan from Justin.tv is flying up from the Bay Area to speak about being a  “serial entrepreneur”. The meetup is downtown in Zillow’s offices, so the views should be hecka sweet!

GeekWire Awards: Seattle: Thursday 5/9, 6pm – 9pm. This is it, folks, anyone who’s anyone will be at this event, it’s like the Academy Awards of the tech industry (except less fussy). Come out to cheer on your friends and peers! Tickets are still available and we’d love to see you there!

PSFK Seattle: Friday 5/10, 6am-10am. Curiosity peaked. This event is focused on the creativity around Seattle, focusing on innovative projects and new types of businesses that will impact our future. This is sure to be an interesting collaboration of ideas.
