GeekWire Calendar Picks: Quiet rock stars, Legos, and H.P. Lovecraft

header2There are lots of interesting events coming up in the Pacific Northwest and we’ve spotlighted some of our favorites in this week’s edition of GeekWire’s Calendar picks. Learn how to be a savvy introverted business person, have Happy Hour with some SaaSsy peeps, and play around with Legos! Coming at you, it’s our hand-selected events from the GeekWire Calendar.

BethBuelow2NWEN Startup Know-How: “It’s Always the Quiet Ones” Business Secrets for the Introvert Entrepreneur: Seattle:  Tuesday 4/30, 5:30 pm. Are you more of a Kenny Loggins kind of rockstar instead of a David Lee Roth? Then this is your event! Be a quiet introvert AND be a rockstar! Find out how to play to your strengths as an introvert in all aspects of business.

Pain in the SaaS Happy Hour: Thursday 5/2, 2 pm. This one had us at the name alone. But the radness doesn’t stop there: FREE BEER and SNACKS and FREE T-shirts (to the first 25 peeps). So tell me, why won’t you go to this event? Lighter Capital and Zuora will be there to help you out with your subscription-based business questions.

The-Cabal-Cut-Portland_300px-205x300H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon: Portland: Friday 5/3 – Sunday 5/5, all day. We love Portland and we love Lovecraft, seems like a great way to spend the weekend! I hope people cosplay as Cthulhu.

Seattle Lego Users Group: Bellevue: Saturday 5/4, 1:30 pm. If there’s any reason to be in Bellevue on a Saturday at 6:30 in the morning, it’s LEGOS! No seriously. This sounds amazing and I’m insanely curious, we should go together!

SEALug meeting is at 1300, not 0630 on 5/4 in Bellevue, WA

Thanks for the correction. We’ve fixed the post above and the calendar listing. Just fyi, the event site shows 1:30 p.m. (1330) so we went with that. http://sealug.org/event/may-sealug-meeting/

I’m a long-time supporter of the HPL Film Festival so thank you for posting it here.

Regarding cosplay, they don’t really have it, but one person has a Cthulhu outfit that they wear every year. You can see a picture of them in the rotating banner on the website: http://www.hplfilmfestival.com/.
