beyonceMove over, Kim Kardashian — your time as the queen of Bing is over.

That title now belongs to Queen Bey, a.k.a. Beyonce Knowles. On Sunday, Bing released its top searches from this year and it was the talented Beyonce finishing in the No. 1 slot for most-searched person in the U.S. after having a baby and performing during the Super Bowl and President Obama’s inauguration — all this year.

Beyonce edged out Kardashian, who finished second in 2013 after taking the top spot in last year. Personally, I’m quite content with this. Beyonce has to be one of the most impressive singers and performers of all-time, while Kardashian has done absolutely nothing other than marry a lackluster NBA forward and an insane hip hop artist.

bing11My celebrity analysis aside, here’s an interesting side note: eight of the top ten most-searched for people were female. Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Madonna rounded out the top five, while Obama finished tenth.

The most-searched movie last year in the U.S. was “Iron Man 3,” while the most-searched social network was Facebook (Google+ came in tenth for all those still counting).

Meanwhile, in the sports realm, Tim Tebow ended up being the most-searched athlete in the U.S. despite the fact that he has not played this season and accumulated only 141 all-purpose yards in 12 games during the 2012 campaign.
