“open to all ages”… not quite.
This morning I tried to drop off my 14-year-old daughter and her friend at the conference, but they were informed by the badge crew that they needed to be 16 years or older to be admitted without an adult chaperone. Nowhere on the website or the news coverage is this little but important fact mentioned :-( I had already invested a trip over the bridge, but unfortunately sticking around would have meant finding a sitter for my other two girls on very short notice, and the badge crew didn’t make me want to go through that hassle when they (politely but firmly) declined to comp me a pass so that I could chaperone. Seemed like bad business to me, but hey, it’s not my show.

Omri, thanks for pointing that out; I hadn’t realized that, either. Sorry for anything we did to contribute to the confusion. I just saw that they do note it on the ticket purchasing page, fwiw. http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/227625

I’m a bit bummed that my Iron(wo)man is cut off in the first pic! Seriously??

Hi Iron(wo)man! I loved your costume but unfortunately there was a podium right in front of you on the stage. If I see you flying around though, I’ll be sure to snap a pic! ;)

For those that want to see the whole group, here we are without a pesky podium in the way: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8pmwbAscb1qacl2xo1_500.jpg -Captain America

  • Alicia – Darth Makenna’s Mom

My daughter was dressed up as Darth Makenna and had the time of her life this weekend!. Thank you GeekGirlCon and to all the special fans for making it all possible showing your support for her. Does anyone have pictures of her on stage during the masquerade? I was off to the side so did not get as good of video quality/pictures as I could. Would appreciate it if you can share what you have.
