Team GeekWire is attending TechStars Demo Day, taking place today at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. More than 600 entrepreneurs, investors, developers and geeks are now filtering into the old warehouse space.
Legendary software developer Ray Ozzie will be keynoting the event, starting roughly at 2:25 p.m. That will be followed by the 10 pitches from this year’s class. We’ve been profiling each of the companies in recent weeks as a lead-up to Demo Day (see list below), but there’s nothing quite like seeing the live pitches.
Even more impressive, I’m told that roughly a third of the companies have already closed their investment rounds. And another third are well on their way to financing success, raising between $400,000 and $2 million.
