Cory Bergman’s Lost Remote blog, which started more than a decade ago to cover changes in the television industry, has been acquired by WebMediaBrands in a deal of undisclosed size.

Bergman who also runs the hyperlocal news network NextDoorMedia and works as an executive at NBCNews.com (formerly msnbc.com) writes in a post that it marks a new chapter for Lost Remote, noting that WebMediaBrands plans to expand the property with both Bergman and writer Natan Edelsburg continuing to play roles.

“Nearly two years ago, Lost Remote became the first site dedicated to covering social TV,” writes Bergman. “Few people had heard of social TV back then, but it quickly graduated from an experiment to a full-blown revolution. Today, social TV and the “second screen” have sparked over one hundred startups, and Lost Remote has grown leaps and bounds.”

Bergman adds that with new competition in the social TV arena that Lost Remote needed help growing, especially as it related to events.

WebMediaBrands includes a network of sites, including TVNewser and AllFacebook.

“The deal preserves my involvement while they leverage their network, resources and events expertise to take Lost Remote to the next level,” he said.
