Microsoft says it will be “bringing Windows Phone to life in a big, big, way” in New York’s Herald Square later today, and a time-lapse video above provides a clue as to what that means  — showing the construction of a six-story Windows Phone replica in the middle of the city.

The description on YouTube says it was “built to celebrate the arrival of 4 new Windows Phones in the US for Holiday 2011.”

Windows Phones being launched today include the $50 Samsung Focus Flash from AT&T, an effort by Microsoft to get existing users of standard cell phones to upgrade to Windows Phones.

Details could also come today on pricing and availability of the HTC Titan Windows Phone from AT&T, with a big 4.7-inch screen (pictured here).

Images of the giant phone first surfaced on Neowin over the weekend.
