Microsoft’s Windows Phone appears to be getting a new logo — shifting from a round icon to a square one that more closely matches the mobile operating system’s tile interface. The new look is presumably slated for official release with the debut of the Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” update this fall.

The City of Renton just topped 5,000 Facebook fans, and now it is looking to knock Boise (with more than 17,000) off its perch. Renton Patch has details on the meetup hosted last week to celebrate the achievement.

Washington state public affairs channel TVW is a new user of Comcast’s special Ethernet Private Line Service, the company announced today. TVW is using the service to send its signal from its Olympia media center to a satellite service at the University of Washington’s main campus in Seattle, which then transmits the signal to cable viewers around the state.

Zillow, the online real estate company that went public in a skyrocketing IPO last month, has begun a new special offer by which users of the company’s online mortgage marketplace can earn gift cards from Lowe’s of between $300 to $1,000.  With the popularity of online coupon sites, Zillow writes in a blog post that the new “Special Offers” program “can change the way borrowers shop for mortgages.”
