For one day only, on Saturday, June 29, eighteen masterworks of automotive design from five important private collections will be on view among the world-class sculptures of SAM’s Olympic Sculpture Park. This special evening is part of a fundraising event for the Seattle Art Museum called Rally for SAM.
Placed among the park’s iconic sculptures, with stunning views of Puget Sound as the backdrop, these truly exceptional and historically significant cars are each show-stopping examples of the global evolution of the automobile. Highlights will include an incredibly rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, one of only 26 produced and perhaps the most sought after car on the planet; a 1937 Talbot-Lago T150-C SS, the famed “teardrop” coupe considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cars ever produced; and a 1952 Mercedes-Benz W194 300 SL, the only Mercedes factory built car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans Race. The cars span 90 years coming to the present with a 2017 LaFerrari Aperiarta—widely considered to be the ultimate supercar with a hybrid engine capable of 0–60 mph in 2.4 seconds. American car enthusiasts will also be able to see an iconic 1965 Shelby 289 Cobra and the custom-built 2005 Ford GT. For a full list of the extraordinary cars that will be on view, keep reading.
These coveted cars will be featured as part of a cocktail party unlike any other! Rally for SAM pairs these stunning automobiles with car-inspired artist-designed pop-up bars, chef-hosted appetizer stations, and performances by The Moondoggies, Shelby Earl and Band, and KEXP Dance Party DJ Michele Myers. Tickets begin at $150 and include all food and drink. Proceeds support free public programs at the Olympic Sculpture Park all summer long and throughout the year.
Get tickets now for your chance to see these iconic symbols of style, luxury and speed from world-renowned private collections which have never been shown together before.
The cocktail party, from 7 pm to midnight, is a 21+ event, ID required at the door.
