About this role
Zap Energy’s Senior Vice President of Growth & Partnerships will own and achieve federal and commercial revenue targets by identifying, qualifying, and securing long-term commitments for reactor deployment. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will serve as the chief architect of the go-to-market strategy and stakeholder engagement efforts, setting commercial direction across the organization and translating complex technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for sophisticated energy buyers.
Key responsibilities: own multi-gigawatt contracted capacity targets through signed, binding, long-term agreements; set and execute North American and global BD strategy for SMR technologies; cultivate senior relationships with federal agencies, nuclear utilities, IPPs, and large energy consumers; lead origination, negotiation, and closing of complex commercial agreements (CRAs, PPAs, MOUs, JDAs); provide leadership for government affairs, communications, marketing, and commercial strategy; and represent Zap at major industry forums, regulatory proceedings, and global energy conferences.
Required: Bachelor’s in Nuclear/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related (MBA preferred); 15+ years progressive experience in BD or strategic commercial leadership in nuclear or power generation; understanding of SMR and advanced reactor technologies (PWR, BWR, Gen IV), fuel cycles, and modular construction; familiarity with NRC licensing pathways (10 CFR Part 50, 52, Part 53); and demonstrated executive-level success closing large-scale, high-value contracts with long sales cycles. Estimated compensation range: $275,000–$375,000 annually with variable, performance-based compensation components.
