About this role
Pulumi wants a product lead for the part of its platform that AI agents are about to start hammering — state, secrets, permissions and the APIs that sit over all of it.
Pulumi Cloud holds the state of record for customers’ infrastructure, brokers the credentials and configuration every deployment depends on, decides who and what is allowed to change which resources, records what actually happened, and exposes all of it through APIs that humans and agents build on. The company is in the middle of a wave of change, with agents playing an increasing role in infrastructure management, and is looking for a thought leader to evolve both its human and agent experiences. The Senior or Principal Product Manager will own end to end experiences that are agent-ready and human-friendly across Pulumi ESC (environments, secrets, and configuration), managed state, and the Registry and Components ecosystem — how teams find, publish, version, and trust reusable infrastructure, and what changes when the consumer is an agent rather than a person. The role also treats the API as a first-class product, covering the OpenAPI surface, the Pulumi Service Provider, webhooks, and VCS integrations.
Pulumi is looking for someone with 7+ years in product management, engineering, or technical program management, with real time on platform, API, or infrastructure products; taste in API and platform design, with opinions about resource modeling, versioning, backward compatibility, and error semantics; comfort in the security and identity domain — secrets handling, permissions models, tenancy, and audit; strong technical instincts and the ability to hold their own with senior engineers on architectural tradeoffs; a track record of ramping fast in unfamiliar technical domains; and demonstrated ability to ship high-quality products in ambiguous, complex problem spaces. Pulumi is headquartered in Seattle, WA, with a globally distributed team; this role can be in Seattle or remote.
Principal Level Base Salary Range: $180,500 to $227,850. Senior Level Base Salary Range: $166,000 – $209,000. All full time employee offers at Pulumi include base salary, bonus or variable, equity and benefits.
