— Enterprise software startup Magnify hired Mike Saffitz as its new vice president of engineering.

Saffitz previously co-founded Seattle-based customer feedback startup Apptentive, which was acquired by KKR-backed Alchemer in January. He also served as head of engineering at Stripe.

Saffitz replaced former Magnify CTO and co-founder Jacob Sajo, who left for personal reasons and currently works as the vice president of engineering at Flexport.

Founded in 2021 and led by CEO Joshua Crossman, Magnify sells AI-powered software that helps companies automate customer onboarding. The 16-person company, which has operations in Seattle and Bend, raised $6 million in 2021. It announced the public launch of its platform this week.

Eric Rimling was named technical advisor to Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

Rimling joined Amazon in 2009, and was most recently vice president of global speciality fulfillment. He previously worked on Prime Now, which shut down in 2021.

Jassy previously held the technical advisor role, also referred to as “shadow adviser,” before replacing Jeff Bezos as CEO. Other former CEO advisors include Amit Agarwal, who helps run Amazon’s India operations; Dilip Kumar, an AWS VP; and Wei Gao, who helped lead the company’s grocery efforts and is now at Madrona Venture Group.

Rimling replaces Sara Duffer, who was Jassy’s adviser when he was CEO of AWS. Duffer is now general manager of platform cryptography and privacy.
