Sarah Korman, chief legal officer at Vancouver, Wash.-based biotech company Absci, will depart Sept. 15, according to a regulatory filing.

The company, which is developing technologies to accelerate the process of drug discovery, said the separation is not due to any operational, policy, or practice disagreements.

Korman joined Absci as general council in 2021. She was previously general counsel and corporate secretary at San Diego biotech company NEUVOGEN. Before that, Korman was head of intellectual property for final drug products at Amgen.

Korman, a DePaul University doctor of law graduate, also has a doctorate degree in materials science and engineering from Penn State University.
