Hyperproof, a Bellevue, Wash.-based startup that helps companies comply with state and international privacy and data protection law, raised a $40 million round led by Riverwood Capital.

  • Customers such as Reddit, Motorola, Nutanix and others use Hyperproof to adhere to a growing number of compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • The 100-person company, which launched in 2018, said it tripled its customer base since 2022 and grew revenue by 260%.
  • Hyperproof is led by founder and CEO Craig Unger, who previously co-founded Azuqua, a cloud-based integration and automation company that was acquired by Okta five years ago. Unger began his career at Microsoft where he worked for nearly 20 years, leaving the role of general manager of Dynamics CRM.
  • Existing backer Toba Capital also invested in the latest round. Total funding to date is $66.5 million.
