— Nicholas Merriam is stepping down as sea.citi’s chief engagement officer.

Launched in 2018 and spearheaded by some of the biggest tech companies in the Seattle region, sea.citi aims to connect tech sector employees with civic life. It focuses on issues such as housing affordability, climate change, transportation infrastructure and digital equity. Sea.citi’s member companies represent more than 85,000 local workers.

Merriam, co-founder of sea.citi, said he will be joining Housing Connector, a Seattle nonprofit trying to level the playing field for the region’s most vulnerable renters.

“Building and growing sea.citi from a concept to a respected tech-impact brand has been a deeply rewarding experience for me, one that will shape the rest of my career,” Merriam wrote in a letter.

Before joining sea.citi, Merriam was the director of Global Impact Hub.

Abigail Doerr, public affairs and campaign consultant for AD Consulting, will serve as the interim CEO.
