— Vancouver, B.C.-based social media management platform Hootsuite hired Antonis Papatsaras as its new chief technology officer.

Papatsaras was previously chief technology officer of the contract lifecycle management product suite at Docusign. Prior to that role he was chief technology officer at SpringCM, a cloud document generation and contract management company acquired by Docusign for $220 million in 2018. He has more than 25 years of computer science and software engineering experience.

Hootsuite, which allows users to manage social media posts across multiple platforms, is one of the largest privately-held tech startups in Canada. In August, the company announced that it would lay off 30% of its staff, joining a list of other tech companies reducing costs and extending runway amid the broader economic downturn.

Michael Butler, chairman and CEO of Cascadia Capital, moved from Seattle to Austin, where he will lead the investment firm’s new office.

“Seattle will always be our HQ, but our future growth will, in large part, be driven by our Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Austin and Nashville offices,” said Butler in a LinkedIn post. Austin is the fifth location for the firm.

“I was born and raised in Seattle but moved to NYC in the mid 80’s after college and rode the east coast wave. I moved back to Seattle in 2000 and caught the west coast wave. I believe the next wave is in the middle of the country and am betting with my feet,” added Butler in the post.
