Seattle agtech startup iUNU just announced another acquisition: it is buying Artemis, a Lake Ariel, Pa.-based startup founded in 2015 that offers a “Cultivation Management Platform” for indoor farms.

The two companies are similar and already share customers. The deal will expand iUNU’s existing platform that uses autonomous rail-mounted cameras and canopy level sensors to assess the health of indoor plants.

Artemis’ 22-person workforce will join iUNU, and Artemis founder and CEO Allison Kopf will become iUNU’s chief marketing officer and head of data products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“iUNU has done an incredible job building advanced analytics solutions for the most critical element of your operation — the plants. Artemis has done the same for the people and operations,” Kopf said in a statement. “By combining plants, people, and operations, we’re poised to scale the technologies underpinning the fastest growing segment of the agriculture industry – controlled environment agriculture.”

Founded in 2013, iUNU now has 64 employees and raised a $7 million round in December. iUNU last month acquired pest management company CropWalk.
