Police have released a Bellevue, Wash. man suspected of second-degree murder after his wife’s body was found in Hawaii.

The body of Smriti Saxena, 41, was found near Anaehoʻomalu in Hawaii on the Big Island Wednesday morning. She was a business program manager at Microsoft in Redmond, Wash., according to LinkedIn.

Six hours after the body was found, police arrested her husband, 43-year-old Sonam Saxena, the head of product for Google Cloud Deployment Manager in the Seattle area, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Hawaii police released Sonam Saxena two days after the arrest, “pending further investigation.”

Before his arrest, Sonam Saxena posted on both Twitter and LinkedIn about the situation. “Linkedin network my wife Smriti Saxena is missing,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “Can you please promote this tweet so that I can tell my daughters where their Mom is #help.”

He tagged Hawaii media sources, local police, and Hawaii Governor David Ige in his tweet. Since then, Sonam Saxena has tweeted several times, but not about his wife.

Sonam Saxena spoke with West Hawaii Today after the body was located but before his arrest. He said he was with his wife at a secluded beach near Anaeho’omalu Bay but left to retrieve her asthma inhaler from their hotel about 20 minutes away. When he returned, she was missing, according to his comments to West Hawaii Today.

Sonam Saxena was previously a senior director at Seattle cloud startup SkyKick, and worked at Microsoft for nearly six years before that as a product manager.

Google and Microsoft have yet to comment publicly on the situation.
