Amazon is taking its NFL streaming rights beyond “Thursday Night Football” and into the playoffs.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the tech giant has reached a deal to broadcast one of two new wildcard games added to the schedule this season. The agreement was reportedly announced to team owners during a video meeting.

Amazon inked a multi-year streaming agreement with the NFL earlier this year to renew its partnership, which brings 11 games broadcast by FOX on television to an audience watching on Prime Video and Amazon-owned Twitch across a variety of sites, apps and devices.

Terms of the playoff game deal were not disclosed in the WSJ report, but they are said to be significantly higher than the per-game range Amazon pays for regular season games. Amazon will share the Jan. 10 game with CBS, which paid a reported $70 million for the television broadcast rights and which it will also stream on its own online platform. NBC has the rights for the other wildcard game, for a reported $75 million, and will stream the game on its Peacock platform.

Amazon’s Thursday games are available to 150 million paid Prime members in more than 200 countries. Amazon took over streaming rights for “TNF” from Twitter in 2017.

Amazon declined to comment when reached by GeekWire.
