A large police presence Thursday at Living Computers: Museum + Labs, the Seattle institution founded by the late Paul Allen, turned out to be because a person broke in and was asleep on the floor.
According to the Seattle Police Dept. blog SPD Blotter — which wins the day for working “sleep mode” into the headline on its post — the unidentified 39-year-old man was found after witnesses called police before 9 a.m. He was sprawled just steps inside the door of the museum in the city’s SODO neighborhood.
Police searched the building but did not find additional sleeper cells. The man was booked into King County Jail for criminal trespass.
Living Computers is home to a large collection of historic, fully restored supercomputers, mainframes, minicomputers and microcomputers, and is unique in that visitors are able to interact with many of the machines as well as other displays.
