He could have sent an email. Or dropped a gift card in everyone’s mailbox. But instead, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos went with a little more drama to say thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Prime Day sale happen.

In photos he shared on Instagram Tuesday evening, Bezos was shown holding a sign over his head that read “THANK YOU” as he stood atop one of the glass domes that make up The Spheres at the company’s downtown Seattle headquarters.

The tech giant’s two-day Prime Day summer shopping extravaganza, which took place Monday and Tuesday, is Amazon’s biggest event of the year, and accounted for more than 175 million products sold.

Bezos was wearing a white Amazon hard hat and a grey Prime Day T-shirt and he was tethered to the top of one of the unique office buildings — the tallest of which is 95 feet high.

One image showed him from a distance, with one of the company’s office towers as a backdrop, and another image (click right below) was up close and showed the company founder wearing a smile on his face similar to the one on his hardhat.

“I love my job and tap dance into work every day, but not usually on top of The Spheres,” Bezos wrote in his Instagram caption. “Huge thank you to Prime members everywhere and to the incredible Amazonians who made Prime Day work.”

The Spheres opened in January 2018 and serve as a non-traditional office setting for the company’s nearly 50,000 employees in the Seattle area. They are filled with thousands of exotic plants.

Bezos is clearly not afraid of heights. The stunt was reminiscent of when he posed at the top of a 300-foot-tall windmill to christen an Amazon wind farm in Snyder, Texas, in October 2017. Bezos also held a sign in 2017 on the roof of another of his buildings — this time for his space venture Blue Origin — to highlight construction of a rocket factory in Florida.
