Amazon has acquired INLT, a startup that helps merchants deal with cross-border shipping.

As first reported by Reuters, the deal will allow Amazon to better help sellers import goods into the U.S., a complicated process that was previously left up to merchants to figure out. INLT makes cloud-based software to manage costs and logistics for cross-border shipments.

“INLT is a smart, nimble team that is helping companies simplify and lower the cost of importing goods into the U.S.,” an Amazon spokeswoman told Reuters. “We’re excited to work with them to develop the next generation of solutions for their customers and Amazon selling partners.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

INLT said on its website it will continue working with existing customers but won’t accept new ones as it transitions into Amazon. Reuters reported that the startup has about a dozen employees based in San Francisco and Philadelphia.

“We have been acquired by Amazon and look forward to working with them to develop the next generation of solutions for our current customers and Amazon Selling Partners,” the company wrote on its website.
