OfferUp has named its first chief financial officer. The Seattle-based mobile ecommerce marketplace announced Tuesday that Rodrigo Brumana is joining the company as CFO, an appointment the company says is its first C-suite addition beyond CEO and co-founder Nick Huzar.

Brumana comes to OfferUp after serving as head of finance and analytics for eBay Americas, where he oversaw financial planning and analysis, business performance, and marketing analytics. Prior to that, Brumana was at RetailMeNot as vice president of finance where he helped with the company’s initial public offering. His more than 20 years of finance experience also includes positions at HP and Palm.

“Rodrigo joins us as we close a record year for OfferUp,” said Huzar in a statement. “Our multiple growing business lines and the resulting complexity requires a leader who can help us navigate the opportunities and risks ahead. Rodrigo’s deep knowledge of the consumer tech industry and experience scaling high-growth companies will be a huge asset to OfferUp as we enter our next phase of growth.”

“I’ve had my eye on OfferUp as one of the leading innovators in the mobile commerce space, and am committed to helping the company build on its momentum by building profitable revenue lines,” said Brumana. “OfferUp has a unique purpose and is leading the transformation of how consumers buy and sell locally.”

GeekWire asked the company if Brumana’s hiring, due to his background in capital markets, may indicate whether or when OfferUp might be considering an IPO; an OfferUp spokesperson declined to comment.

In a LinkedIn post marking the fifth anniversary milestone, CEO and co-founder Matt Ehrlichman highlighted the new hires, saying the additions complement, “many recent leaders we’ve brought in throughout the business in communications, public relations, and engineering.”

“Our team size has grown as our business continues to scale,” Ehrlichman said. “We’re aggressively investing in our product and engineering teams and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, and we’ve put a lot of focus on developing our culture and investing in our employees.”

Delightful Communications, a digital marketing agency founded by former Microsoft advertising leader Mel Carson, tapped former Amazon HR leader La’Kita Williams to lead a new spin-out for the company.

The spin-out is called Co-Create Work and aims to assist startups with organizational culture and design, employee experience and leadership branding. Williams will serve as the company’s co-founder and principal strategist.

“We are beyond thrilled to have La’Kita’s talent on the team to help augment and accelerate with work we already do with company founders and leaders across the world,” Carson told GeekWire in an email. “We are delighted to unveil CoCreate Work as a tried and true way to thoughtfully build and scale a unique company culture that builds trust and accelerates growth.”

— At Boeing, Anne Toulouse has been named interim senior vice president of communications. Phil Musser, who currently holds the position of senior vice president of communications, is stepping down due to personal and family considerations. A Boeing Company statement said Musser will leave in early November following an “orderly transition.”

Toulouse currently is Boeing’s vice president of global brand management and joined the company in 1989 as a media relations manager. Toulouse will hold the communications position until a permanent successor is named.

“[Musser’s] made meaningful contributions to the company, leading important new investments in our social media strategy and digital and analytics capabilities and driving a new Boeing brand platform,” said Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing’s chairman, president and CEO. “We’re sorry to see him go, but he has made Boeing Communications stronger and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
